As someone who lives in a cold ass farmhouse in Canada and tries to get every bit of heat from our furnace and wood stove, this cuts me deep. Free your heat!!!!
Block enough airflow and the furnace won't be able to move enough air and may trip the high limit on the furnace, locking it out until it cools down enough to restart, further limiting how much heat you get.
