Rosa Parks wasn't in the front, she was already in the colored section of the bus, roughly in the middle of the bus, and wasn't told to go to the back, she was told to stand.
Segregated buses had white people in the front, "colored" people in the middle and back. Rosa was in the middle, colored section, on a crowded bus with all seats taken. A few white men were standing, so the bus driver stopped the bus, and told Rosa and other black people to stand, and let the white people sit.
