US pop icon Pink has pledged a donation of $500,000 to Australian fire services currently on the front lines of the bushfire crisis.

"I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires," the Walk Me Home singer Tweeted.

"I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz."

The donation comes after Australian comedian Celeste Barber raised over $10million to date for firefighters battling to save properties and people across New South Wales .

Barber – who is best known for her parodies of American celebrities – started the fundraiser online when her mother-in-law's house in Eden, on the New South Wales south coast, was engulfed in an orange glow.

"This is my mother in laws house," Barber captioned several photos on her social media platforms.

"It's terrifying. They are scared. They need your help."

She called for donations to the NSW Rural Fire Service and in less than 24 hours, a staggering $8 million has been raised.

Barber set a goal of $4.5 million but surpassed that target in a short amount of time with hundreds of thousands of people contributing.

Donations have poured in from all over the world including other celebrities like US comedian Gary Janetti and actress Selma Blair who commented, "I am so sorry".

American television journalist Katie Couric said: "So terrifying".

Barber responded to the overwhelming response posting on Facebook on Saturday: "This is out of control! You are all out of control. My love and appreciation for you all is out of control.

"Unfortunately today the fires are due to get even more out of control."

Barber's husband, Api Robin, also shared the photos of his mother's house, urging his followers to donate.

"This is Eden. They are facing catastrophic conditions. The town has been left to fend for itself," he said.

Eden is one of the many towns along the New South Wales south coast affected by worsening bushfire conditions.

Residents have fled homes in nearby Moruya, Bateman's Bay, Bermagui as the fire threat looms, with many holiday makers seeking shelter in Eden before being asked to leave to make way for those who need help from surrounding towns.
