as a teacher, this really got to me. i hope i'm never that teacher that "often taunts" a student for asking questions, no matter how easy i think the answer might be. a question is 3 things: 1. a manifestation of desire to learn and improve, 2. a sign that i've created an environment where kids don't think i or classmates will make them feel "less than" for asking, 3. a sign that i may not have taught a concept as effectively as i thought/intended.
