I’d like to get all my venting done (you’re allowed to nod, make shocked facial expressions, and say “Damn, that’s crazy”) before you give me advice that only affirms my already solidified position.

I ask this all the time now and once you know someone... you can pick up on it without many cues.
When my friends don’t say “what do you think” after venting... then I know to shut up and not give my opinion.
