On November 15, President Donald Trump granted clemency to three members of the military convicted or charged with war crimes – a controversial move that was at odds with the Pentagon.

One of those men was Navy SEAL Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher, who had his rank restored by the president after being demoted by the Navy to petty officer first class.

The latest episode of The New York Times‘ „The Weekly“ shows members of SEAL Team 7 who reported to Gallagher talking to investigators about him in shocking and sometimes emotional interviews.

„The guy is freaking evil, man,“ Special Operator 1st Class Craig Miller says in the video.

On November 15, President Donald Trump granted clemency to three members of the military who were either convicted of or charged with war crimes – a controversial move that was at odds with the Pentagon.

One of those men was Navy SEAL Special Operations Chief Edward Gallagher, who was accused of killing a teenage ISIS fighter in US custody in Iraq and shooting at Iraqi civilians.

In July, a jury acquitted Gallagher of all counts but one in an extraordinary trial that saw prosecutorial interference and intervention by Trump.

He was found guilty of posing with the body of the dead ISIS fighter, and Trump’s action last month restored Gallagher’s rank after the Navy court demoted him to petty officer first class.

In the latest episode of The New York Times‘ show „The Weekly,“ videos show members of SEAL Team 7 talking to investigators about Gallagher in shocking and sometimes emotional interviews.

„I think he just wants to kill anybody he can,“ Special Operator 1st Class Corey Scott tells investigators. Another SEAL Team 7 member calls him „toxic.“

In addition to restoring his rank, Trump also intervened to allow Gallagher to keep his Trident, which signifies someone is a Navy SEAL. Gallagher retired earlier this year. He has denied the charges and said that the allegations were concocted by unhappy members of the platoon to force him out.

You know who I listen to? The experts. If a bunch of guys trained and expert at killing people label one of their own as evil and toxic, I'm prepared to believe it.

Here's the video.

It's 2:10 trailer for "The Weekly" documentary available on Hulu. It is comprised of clips of confidential interviews with SEALs and narration from a reporter.

And Trump pardoned him and now trots him out at political rallies where the right wingers applaud and cheer.
