I remember once a kid asked me, "boys can't wear dresses, right?" I sat there for a moment trying to think of how to explain it. "boys don't, but sometimes if a boy feels like a girl--wait, no, that's not right, uhhhh..." And then all of a sudden the answer just hit me:
"Actually, anyone can wear whatever they want."
Kid said, "oh!"
And that was that. Much easier than the way it was explained to me when I was growing up.
My hubby’s aunt is about 4% Irish and has died her completely brown hair red for as long as I’ve known her. She calls herself a redhead and Irish all the time.
