I got a 56 on one of my data structures test but the teacher told me I did really good cuz the class average was a 40. Saw a lot of people change majors after that class
Edit: I studied my ass off for that 56 too
Edit: my professor who taught my data structures class was amazing. She did her best to answer all questions, dumb down material if possible, and her office was always open. Thing was, shit was so difficult at times the class wouldn’t know what questions to ask. I sat in the front and wear my thoughts on my face. Got to the point that she would gauge where the class was by how confused I looked during lecture.
My sister got her first test results back before a long weekend. The 63 had her crying and thinking about quitting. Next class teacher says: oh, I forgot to tell you, I grade on a curve. She got an A.

If I have more than 5 failing grades in my class, I have to reevaluate. Either the test was too hard or* I didn’t teach the material well enough.
