Something similar happened with mine. It had been stolen and located it at the local jail. The person who had stolen it had apparently got arrested and it was in his personal property. But I had to file a charge, show proof, and a long checklist of other things in order to get it back. Took over 2 months.
Yep mine was stolen in Vienna and I tracked it to Bulgaria .. the police said theres a slight chance I won‘t ever get it back... just a slight chance tho
