“I watch them breathe at night” what?

I’m a lawyer. Not as much education as a doctor, but still, I’ve spent plenty of hours in libraries. I had a client looking at 10 years max, but she had a 2 year offer. I’ve tried about 40 cases in front of a jury, and I’m begging her—begging her—to take the 2 year offer, because she’s definitely going to be found guilty, and definitely going to get more than 2 years from a jury.

She goes all little miss “fuck your education and experience” on me, and what happens? Oh, that’s right, a 7 year sentence.

My point is, listen to the people who know more than you on a particular subject. Failure to do so results in long trips to the slammer or (God forbid) dead kids. Here endeth the lesson.

We had a parent bring their kid in for vomiting once and intermittent stomach pains. She simply said "this isn't how he normally gets sick" Every single person, except for the doc, thought it was the parent over reacting.

I got a near immediate call from the house radiologist and the kid went to emergency surgery.

Roughly 1 in 200 of kids who are brought in are because the parents are being extra, but I'll deal with their shit if we save the save one who really needs it.
