Mother Teresa was a choosy beggar (As well as a terrible person who didn't even use the donations given to her charity, instead she put billions of dollars in a tax-free Vatican bank account where it remains today)
I remember reading a review of Christopher Hitchens' expose on Mother Teresa when it came out in 1995. Back in the 80s and early 90s, her name was literally synonymous with sainthood in public discourse, and I was frankly shocked that anyone would speak ill of her.
In the years since, much has become clear that was hidden before. She has undergone a Cosby-esque reversal of public image.
