Background:

I went with my dentist on one of his various trips to refugee camps and orphanages around the world. This trip happened to be to N. Iraq, which he goes to once a year now.

My initial goal was to simply photograph and document his rogue humanitarian work (as in, out of pocket, just pack your supplies and go; no-NGO) so that he could have some pictures/memories to show friends/family.

What started out as a casual photo-trip has now turned into a documentary-in-progress over the last 8 years, through 11 different countries, and serves to prove that β€œchange” is really a grassroots operation at it’s core.
