The "wait, what"? Due to a scandal involving postal workers' wages, two ministers resigned (including the Prime Minister, which means that the government coalition gets renegotiated). Though negotiation results were "let's keep on going with the same program".

SDP, the largest member of the government coalition had a vote on the PM and are suggesting Sanna Mirella Marin, 34. She became nationally best known as the chairperson of the Tampere city council (one of the largest cities in Finland) at the time of some difficult decisions, so the position required quite some effort to maintain ORDAH! in the council.

Officially, the Parliament of Finland will confirm the nomination, but since the majority of the representatives are backing the government coalition, the nomination is very likely to pass.

She'll be the youngest prime minister in the world. In general, there's a quite shift in Finnish leadership. All of the government party heads are women, and many of them are notably young.

Sanna Marin, head of the Social Democratic Party and the next Prime Minister. She's 34 years old. [EDIT: no, she's not actually head of SDP, but Prime minister. It's an unusual situation that the head of the party is not the prime minister, but she'll likely be the head of the party next summer]

Maria Ohisalo, head of the Green party and the interior minister, she's 34 years old.

Katri Kulmuni, head of the Center party and the Minister of Economic Affairs is 32 years old.

Anna-Maja Henriksson Head of the Swedish party and the minister of Justice is 55 years old.

Li Andersson, head of the Left Party and Minister of education is 32 years old.

EDIT 2: Corrected Kulumni to Katri Kulumni, from Maria Kulumni.

EDIT 3: Corrected Kulumni to Kulmuni. Even I, a Finn, cannot keep up with Finnish names. I feel like giving up at this point.

Also, while she'll be the youngest prime minister, commenters have noted that the Chancellor of Austria is younger, and the Chancellor corresponds to Prime Minister in Austria.
