I’m half French but my great grandfather was a mechanic from a small town in France where a few Nazis rode in on motorcycles. My great grandfather found the motorcycles unattended and disassembled them. When the Nazis saw their motorcycles disassembled they went to the nearest mechanic (my great grandfather) who got paid to reassemble the motorcycles in a hasty and nearly inadequate manner.
