An acquaintance of mine used to tell a story about how he called his soon to be ex from a hotel room to dump her so that he wasnt about to cheat. Probably still better than cheating but not a great plan.
I found out on Halloween that my fiancée, girlfriend of nearly 5 years had cheated on me with someone she had just met at her new job. It was soooo unexpected. There were no signs, no months of build-up, and we were laughing and passing out candy 5 minutes before.
Fast forward 2 weeks to mid November and they are already married at a courthouse. Absolutely devastating. We have a house and 3 year old. She really screwed our futures.
What makes it worse was she held me to such a high standard, always checking my phone history, accusing me of wanting to leave her etc....very ironic.
Edit: Yes I know that her checking my phone, and accusing me of wanting to leave her someday can be signs of her own adultery. But I know she had trust issues because her previous husband (who I personally know) was a philanderer who cheated. So I let it slide. I didn’t have anything to hide. She had me convinced that I’d be the one to fuck up.
