Michigan State senior cornerback Josh Butler brought his dogs, Roxy and Remi, into Spartan Stadium as he was introduced before the game against Maryland. Butler's parents both died during his college tenure and he and chose to walk with his dogs on senior day. -mlive
I’m glad his pups were there to give him comfort because walking out there without either parent must have killed him a little inside. That’s a rough hand to be dealt to such a young man.
He also got one of the loudest cheers from the crowd when he walked into the field. He was one of the main reasons I went to the game instead of staying home, even though he isnt necessarily my favorite player my buddies and I wanted to make sure he knew he had his Spartan family to support him.
A little more backstory, he lost both his parents, but he is from Texas, so he wasn't even near any family outside of his teammates during a lot of the normal grieving time.
