The sad thing is that it’s 2019 and a presidential candidate’s campaign still lives and dies with how much coverage a privately-owned news corporation decides to give them.

Not a Yang supporter but he's not wrong about the media treating him like he doesn't exist despite a very successful campaign for someone who hasn't held office or been a big public figure before this.

Yang is right.

Our media has a problem. A big problem. It's all of our problem actually.

There are many factions in our political parties. One of the factions on the left is currently dying and its remnants are being fought over. This is the Clinton faction of the DNC. Factions have their strengths and weaknesses. The Bernie faction of the DNC encountered the strengths of the Clinton faction the last time we did this in the 2016 election cycle when the Clinton News Network ignored Bernie. The leaked emails, donation lists, and fed questions during debates show this relationship was real.

and Yang isn't the first Democrat to warn us. This "CNN picking who makes the next debate" is from the last election;

The strength of the Clinton faction was their relationship with corporate America or more specifically to this conversation powerful media corporations. This relationship between the Clinton faction and left wing corporate media can easily be found on the internet.

L.A. Times 2014;

"NBC’s hiring of Chelsea Clinton as a “special correspondent” in its news division was widely recognized as an exercise in corporate cynicism when it was announced in November 2011.

Now a price tag has been hung on that scandal, with Politico’s reporting that Clinton has been paid a salary of $600,000. The network hasn’t confirmed the figure, but it hasn’t denied it either, and responded to Politico’s questions by asserting that it “continues to enjoy a wonderful working relationship with Chelsea, and we are proud of her work.”

It’s that last part that’s particularly head-scratching, for as a news correspondent for NBC, Clinton hasn’t done anything to be proud of. Quite the contrary. The disclosure raises the obvious question of NBC’s goal in giving a person without any measurable journalistic or broadcasting experience or any particular public following a high-profile job and apparently paying her a top-echelon salary.

The answer is equally obvious. Plainly, it was done to curry favor with the Clinton family."

Take note that I said "One of the factions on the left is currently dying and its remnants are being fought over.". I said "dying" not "dead". Just because Hillary Clinton lost doesn't mean that faction of the DNC is dead. Every day that faction is still in our media bubble and it can be found right here on Reddit. Go over to rPolitics and look for articles by The Daily Beast. They're on that sub almost every day and so it makes it to Reddits front page as well.

Guess who sits on their parent Board of Directors.

So when you have our political candidates complaining about corporate media bias we should all WAKE THE FUCK UP. It's serious. This is a grave threat to our democracy. Corporations are deciding who wins our elections. Let that sink in.
