I recently attended an exhibit called "What Were You Wearing?", the title is based on the question that survivors of rape are repeatedly asked following their assault. After reading a few of the real life stories, the answer became apparent: It didn't fucking matter.

I saw this exhibt at a Take Back the Night event at my college 20 years ago. One of them was a toddler's t-shirt.

Rape is a monstrous and disgusting act. There is no way to justify it. I don't understand why people would wonder what the victim was wearing as if it could justify being mentally and physically violated.
