In my experience, people who say things like "I thought you wanted to help but you're just looking at everyone like $$$" are the type of people to ask you for money for literally everything.
I remember when I was younger my dads friend sold him a pool vacuum, and I couldn’t understand why he didn’t just give it to him and he had to explain to me that just because someone is your friend doesn’t mean they need to give you free stuff.
