I'm really annoyed this is going for the family audience again. Call of the Wild is a really dark and violent book with a lot of powerful messages about (naturally) the wild and human nature. An honest adaptation would be a hard R rating, and probably have no dialogue for 75-80% of the film. That's what I'd like to see someday. Plus frankly the movie has entirely too little sponge cake in it.

This is good, and all, but where's my Hatchet (by Gary Paulsen) movie?
