I spent 3 years of my childhood in a cellar in a small town just 20km from Vukovar during that damn war. I remember the day it fell. I sincerely hope no person ever has to go through an experience like that. It brought only sadness and pain for everyone. I sincerely wish I never had to go through that.

These wars traumatised an entire generation and left scars that will take longer than 25 years to heal.

Now imagine Iraq, Yemen, Syria...those poor people and their kids. With no guarantee that they'll get the psychological help they'll need to deal with it.

A war does not just destroy buildings, it leaves mental scars in the psyche. How do you want children to just go to school after the guns fall silent? How do you want shattered families to just carry on like normal when they're missing someone at the table?
