Your Reminder that The Brazilian Government responded to this by getting rid of almost all anti-fire laws, encouraged people to burn down the rainforest and then used the fires as an excuse to take thousands of armed troops into the lands of these tribes.

The fires are still burning and there will be new oil rigs by the time they stop.

Edit: The Photo is in Ecuador, absolutely, but the Brazilian government made its moves in the wake of the ruling, the thing about rainforests, tribal lands and big companies is that they don't fit neatly within borders, fires too.
