In my opinion, school lunch should just be provided free for all kids as a necessary part of the public school day. it would make things so much easier, same as a school uniform. equalize and it would help make lunch time a lot more coordinated. and for the record I am someone who can afford to and does send my children to school with a homemade lunch every day. plus a few extra snacks to share with any friends who might not have enough food for the day

I imagine it’s to prevent financially stable families from simply skimping on the lunch tab, but boy is that going to go sideways
