In the Trump administration, where staffers come and go quickly, White House senior policy advisor Stephen Miller has managed to stick around since the campaign days when he worked as a speechwriter.

Miller has long drawn accusations of white supremacist leanings both within and outside the Trump administration.

After poignant images circulated of migrant family separations at the border, one outside White House advisor told Gabriel Sherman at Vanity Fair: “Stephen actually enjoys seeing those pictures at the border.

Now there is public record of Miller promoting explicit and virulent white nationalist propaganda.

Of his days as Sessions's press secretary, Washington Post journalist Robert Costa recounted to PBS's Frontline, “Stephen Miller became known to a lot of reporters.

Stephen Miller wrote screeds, screeds about immigration, and he was not taken seriously by most reporters or most Republicans."

Miller then sent McHugh a story from the white nationalist website VDARE by Steve Sailor, an anti-immigration activist who peddles race science. »

Taiwan calls on the international community to stand by Hong Kong

TAIPEI (DPA) - Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on Wednesday (Nov 13) called on the international community to take action to stand by Hong Kong after a number of universities there were stormed by riot police the previous day.

"I want to call on the Hong Kong government to pull back just in time and not to respond to the people with violence," Ms Tsai wrote on Facebook.

"The international community and people upholding values of democracy and freedom must take action and pay attention to the situation in Hong Kong, which is out of control," Ms Tsai said. »
