Overdraft is the worst. Having said that, if you only overdraft once in a while you should try talking to your bank about getting the fee removed. It's hit or miss obviously, but worth a try.
I remember thinking when I was a teenager, 'oh it's okay, I have overdraft protection :) it's alright if I spend a few extra dollars.' Next time I checked my balance, my naive thought that the finance world was a fair place was shattered..
