When the Trumpers yell about this remind them of what Republicans did to Clinton. Republicans started a commission to look at Whitewater. (IMHO legit) Ken Starr came on shortly after. He looked for years, couldn't find anything and turned in his report and resignation. In essence the Republicans asked him to stay on and "find something". Which eventually led to Lewinski and lying to congress.
Can you imagine if after Mueller turned in his report the Democrats asked him to stay on and "find something" A commission allowed to just there looking at anything and everything?
Trump complains how can you do this to a president with an economy this good. Clinton had a similar economy AND a budget surplus. How good would this economy be without pumping a few hundred billion dollars into the economy?
