The other side: Among those who disapprove of the job Trump is doing (467 respondents), 70% say there's nothing the president could do to gain their support.

The big picture: 43% of all respondents in the Monmouth poll approve of Trump's job, versus 51% who disapprove. 41% approved in the same poll in September, while 53% disapproved.

On impeachment, 44% responded "yes" when asked if Trump "should be impeached and compelled to leave the Presidency," versus 51% who said "no."

Methodology: The Monmouth University Poll was sponsored and conducted by the Monmouth University Polling Institute from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 with a national random sample of 908 adults age 18 and older. The margin of error for the total sample is ± 3.3.

This is what you would call a cult

Edit: to stop the 15th person from making the same argument that 70% say there is nothing trump can do to change their minds. This is different and not cult like (though as I’ve maintained closed minded which is bad). The easiest way to explain it is imagine telling a leader “there is nothing you can do to lose my trust”. This is a cult like statement. You have adopted a “the leader can do no wrong” mentality. This is common in cults.

The 70% are saying “there is nothing trump can do to regain my trust”. This, while closed minded, is not cult like. This is a judgment based on past actions. The damage has been done to these people and any positive actions will be to little to late. This is not cult like behavior. It is like I said closed minded and a bad attitude but it does not place an aura of infallibility, merely a burned bridge that will not be rebuilt.
