It’s better than a lot of people give it credit for, but for a movie about an all-powerful wizard, it’s pretty tame/safe. I’m excited to see where MoM takes the character.

The plot overall wasn’t anything special, but the characters and execution saved it. Strange and his supporting cast are very compelling, and even the less interesting characters like Kaicilius are very well-acted.

It shows a lot of restraint with it being primarily set on Earth, but the imagery of the other worlds is great and probably serves as a good prelude to what MOM will give us, and I appreciate how they could have easily given us a portal in the sky or a generic CGI slap fight ending, but instead went for something genuinely clever and unique that also fitted Strange’s character and arc.

While I prefer Strange’s other appearances, I think this was a good introduction to the character and his “world”.

It’s one of those films which I enjoyed the first time, but didn’t come out raving out, but every time I rewatch I like it more and I’m surprised by how much I enjoy it. It’s great.
