Rose McGowan has filed a racketeering lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein and attorneys David Boies and Lisa Bloom, accusing them of conspiring to discredit her sexual assault claims against the disgraced film producer.

The lawsuit comes a month after the publishing of “She Said,” a book by journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey about the rise of the #MeToo movement.

But McGowan called the lawyer’s actions “mind bending and illegal” on social media and called for her to be disbarred.

It alleges that the spy, known to McGowan as Diana Filip, gained her trust by posing as an advocate.

“McGowan has suffered tremendously from Defendants’ conspiracy and lies,” concludes the lawsuit. »

Coca-Cola Named Most Polluting Brand in Plastic Waste Audit

Coca-Cola was found for the second year in a row to be the most polluting brand in a global audit of plastic trash conducted by the Break Free From Plastic global movement.

Sorting through the mounds of garbage, they found that the plastic represented 50 different types and could be traced back to almost 8,000 brands.

Coca-Cola’s dubious distinction of being the top global contributor of plastic waste for two consecutive years runs counter to the company’s carefully curated public image as an environmental leader. »

White House Threatens to Veto SHIELD Act

The White House on Wednesday said President Donald Trump would veto a bill requiring federal election campaigns to report “illicit offers” of campaign assistance from foreign governments and their agents.

The bill would also impose new rules on political advertisements placed on social media platforms similar to those currently governing radio and TV ads.

Siding with the White House, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the bill was antithetical to constitutional principles of free speech. »
