Lake Hāwea

This was taken with Kodak Aerochrome. It's a discontinued film that was used for aerial surveying. It responds like regular colour film except that the red dye layer is also sensitive to infrared frequencies. This is most abundantly reflected off foliage which is why you get these unique red/pink tones. I took this photo back in January this year but only developed this roll recently (I shoot vary sparingly on this film because it's very pricey!)

This was shot with a Bronica SQ-A 6x6 medium format camera.

Used an orange filter to get the film to respond to IR frequencies (this is how the film is designed to be used.)

Self Developed at home with E6 chemistry.

You can find more of this series on my instagram @jjofthedrums_ and check out my website for prints.

EDIT: I've received a few messages asking about prints of this photo. I'm located in Australia so if you are too you can message me directly. If you're elsewhere then you can purchase prints through my website. Thanks for the love!

No man's sky: not another planet with red grass...
