They sent paper flyers to my Asian coworker claiming the Liberals will legalize hard drugs, making them accessible to children, in both English and Chinese. Also promised easier immigration for elderly parents and building a strong relationship with China.

Meanwhile the English only flyer was all carbon tax, carbon tax. A bit freaky to be targeted like this offline too.

I'll have to cross-reference against my list...

An incomplete list of CPC lies/misleading statements/etc from this election period:

Conservatives lie about how elections work

Scheer lies about Liberal plans to raise GST, Eliminate Federal Transfers

Conservatives Falsely Claim The Liberals would Decriminalize Drugs

Scheer "falsely claimed" to be an insurance broker

Conservatives lie about Liberal "secret housing tax"

Conservatives falsely claimed Liberals lowered taxes for millionaires

Scheer's claims about Foreign Aid "Deemed False"

Conservatives lie about drug decriminalization to Chinese constituents

Conservatives Issue Misleading Tweet re: RCMP Investigation

Conservatives asked to remove doctored image claiming Rick Mercer advocated voting for them

Conservatives accused of Deceiving Canadians over Carbon Tax

About this list: I've tried to be as fair as possible when compiling it. I won't include anything that isn't sourced, is too far in the past (that's why the lie about UofO isn't here), or that could be considered controversial in my opinion. The wording I'm using is largely coming from the articles themselves. This isn't a partisan hack job, this is literally the Conservative party (or its leader) being called out repeatedly for making purposefully misleading statements about their opponents or policies. If this list doesn't bother you, I don't know what to tell you.

Criticisms:

"All parties lie!" - Not according to what I'm seeing. Googling for "liberal misleading statements" literally turns up more hits for the CPC than the LPC. I've also had several CPC supporters claim they're going to build a similar list of Liberal "lies", but they never materialise.

"You listed the drug one twice!" - I consider it two discrete lies because of the way they went about it, but if you want to discount one of those two, go nuts. Also if THAT'S what bothers you about this list...

"Google has a liberal bias" - Boy, we're reaching now.

"Where is "lie x?" - Maybe I missed it, maybe it falls outside of my "rules". Share it and let's see.

"The Liberals aren't perfect!" - Nobody's saying they are.

"I could easily make a similar list for the other parties" - Awesome. Do it and share it.

Can I share this?: Go nuts!
