Seriously I hate how professors say this with pride, too. Like dude we’re not here to waste thousands of dollars on terrible teachers, please get it together.

A professor who brags about the number of people who fail their class is probably an arsehole.
A professor who brags about how hard their course is, but how high the pass rate is, is probably quite good at their job.
EDIT: Upon reflection, I chucked a probably in there.

The best tutor I had at university was a Doctor in economics.
He was the best at teaching and explaining things.
I failed his class along with a few others, because it was hard as balls.
