I don’t think it’s fair to qualify America as just getting involved because people fucked with our boats. I think you’re referring to the Lusitania and ww1 but even if you meant ww2 both Wilson and Roosevelt had massive goals for America to be world leaders. Wilson delivered his 14 points speech and was a huge factor in trying to shape the world, which he wanted to do to “make the world safe for freedom and democracy”. Wilson is where the idea of America invading other places to ensure freedom and democracy fame from.
