Something about "it was not a giveaway item" is really crushingly sad. Makes me think he's either an older guy or just really nice and having trouble entertaining the idea that a person would be such a piece of shit as to steal a woman's wheelchair
"IT WAS NOT A GIVE AWAY ITEM" makes me think he may have left it near the curb. That sort of thing happens a lot when caring for a disabled person, getting them in and out of cars, etc. So this might not actually be an r/trashy situation. The wheelchair may have accidentally been left somewhere that someone else thought it was a "curb freebie". (On craigslist, people post "curb alerts", where they just put some unwanted item out at the curb, then post it on craigslist, so the owner doesn't have to deal with the people coming to pick it up.)

Is it trashy? Look at the context on the sign. Someone probably thought they were throwing out an old wheelchair.
