It occurs to me that "fought along US troops" is less important internationally/morally than "sought self-determination and self-government".
But if that's what people need to see how this is fucked up, go for it.
EDIT: Now at the top, I should say that the various minority and Indigenous ethnic groups in the DFNS have bad blood with the Kurds (and also the Turks), but facilitating serious reconciliation between them (and putting huge amounts of political pressure on the Turkish military apparatus to cut their shit out) is probably a better outcome than letting this bit of Syria get run over roughshod by Turkey.
