Sometimes I forget how ancient the Chinese and Japanese cultures are. This is mind boggling. The Byzantine empire still existed when this inn was started. Fascinating
Edit: I live in the US, no functioning establishment is this old here. When I said “mind boggling” I just meant that it’s impossible to imagine all that’s transpired in the world for the span of time this Inn has been standing. I love how someone can express genuine awe / interest at something on the internet and many peoples first instinct is to nitpick semantics.

Man imagine being born into this family and wanting to do anything else with your life, pressure of 46 generations wanting you to work the family inn
