The NVIDIA Shield uses an *Almost* but not actually type-C power supply. It's proprietary, and NVIDIA doesn't sell replacements. It breaks? Tough shit.

Don't know if this helps, but I had an HTC phone that had a funky, non standard USB connector and I lost the charger. Turns out that micro USB worked just fine even though the housing wasn't the same. Since USB C relies mostly on the center piece with the actual pins on it a C type connector might work even if it doesn't mate perfectly with the socket.

Not as big of an asshole move as you may think - the nVidia Shield came out in 2015 - USB-C was only designed in 2014 and officially adopted in 2016.

This is going to get lost in this sea of hate but:

This appears to be an Nvidia Shield TV.

My cable got broken, so I asked for a replacement after the warranty ended as Nvidia doesnt sell them. They sent it to me quickly and free.

Also the OG shield TV came out before USB-C was really even used.

Also the shield TV is by far my favorite android device I've ever owned, gets updates monthly and has for years, and is great. Dont let this turn you off(go check reviews!)

And before anyone calls me a shill, nvidia has sucked a lot recently, especially the RTX 20xx cards and their pricing. They are also pretty anti-consumer. Shield TV is still 9/10 product though.
