I think having her do any time at all is progress. Previously they would’ve just suspended her, with pay, and then she’d have started working in a different county.

Just not equal in the eyes of the people and systems that enforce it. I like the thought exercise I saw yesterday; imagine if a black guy broke into a cop's apartment and shot her dead while she was watching TV and eating ice cream. He'd get decades, at least.

Unpopular Opinion here: Sharing to just to give another perspective. My issue isn't her time she got. My issue is the time Minorities are getting. I want years on other criminals to be reduce or to be given some compassion like this. The idea that sentencing will persuade other to not committed crime, is use too often to justified harsh sentences (make an example of them). If they sentence all crime like they did this one, with compassion, consideration of the family forgiveness, and the likelihood the crime will be committed again by perpetrator. we might actual see some Justice for people. Fuck this murder but also fuck the mob mentality out for blood.
