One of my best mates, G, died in 2005, long before meme culture was a twinkle in some hipster's eye. It is genuinely one of my greatest regrets that I can never, ever send him a meme. For years after he died, I'd be cracking up at something silly and be like "G, you fucking tosser." I miss him every day.
Sometimes I see something I know my son would like and my first thought is “I should text him a link to this” then I remember he’s only 2 and doesn’t have a phone.
