Not so fun story:
When I was working in operations support for a large finance company I would need to occasionally help branches submit life insurance claims.
There was one old lady who took out a small loan with life insurance “for her family” who, the same afternoon she received the check, killed herself in a Walmart parking lot by drinking bleach. Things must have been really tough for her
EDIT: For those wondering, her claim was not approved.
When I was pregnant I had pica and I desperately wanted to eat powdered laundry detergent. Like, I had to actually fight the urge to go into the laundry room and eat a big handful.
