Equally applicable is when there's a meeting between three parties during a dispute and it is painfully clear that when you (party A) and party B are having a disagreement, party C clearly has no respect for B and supports you instead. Happened to me yesterday involving two parts of our local council, and the final decision maker was just rolling his eyes and laughing when I was able to throw back everything in the other council guy's face by quoting their own standards that he wasn't following.
