"Things that make me recognize traits and behaviors in myself that I feel are negative create a cognitive dissonance in me that I am emotionally unequipped to handle."

EDIT: It seems like I need to clarify things.

This is a result of upbringing, and specifically the lack of experience and education to handle one's internal biases and self-loathing. Pain is bad and is comforted away or pushed away. There is no coping mechanism for pain. so, nothing heals beneath stacks upon stacks of Band-Aids.

The outward expression is what people seem to be wanting to attack, and seem to use my uneducated assessment as some sort of validation for their thought that this person is wrong.

The key part of the statement isn't, "I don't like this," it's "I have been left unequipped by my parents and society to handle living and participating in society in a healthy way."

Don't attack injured birds, people.

EDIT 2: And don't fucking arm yourself with my words to be a dick to people. I guarantee you that you're wrong and an idiot if you think it would be a good idea to pull this up in an argument with someone, you fucking shit.

Obese is a medical term. End of story.

I remember someone I know once whined on FACEBOOK about their doctor telling them that they are obsese and basically how it “hurt her feelings”

Dude your doctor is the literal ONE PERSON who is absolutely allowed to tell you are obese.
