Once upon a time, they were all just fighting the Russians. You'd have that crazy dude Greg fighting alongside your old band teacher Steve and when you came of age they gave you an AK-47 as well as the burden of trying to fight to free your country.

After the Russians left though, everyone thought it was fine. Except Greg. Greg and all of his buddies thought Muslim Medieval Times sounded awesome and that everyone should dress like that with a shitty steam punk influence with old crappy toyota pick up trucks that wouldn't die.

So Greg and his buddies all got their tribes together and fucked over the Steves. You thought all of that shit was over, but unfortunately it wasn't. You'd have to send your kids to Pakistan in exile while you kept on fighting. At least this is kinda how my buddy from the Wardak province described it. He was a kid that got exiled, his dad was a freedom fighter against the Taliban.
