As a firefighter can also confirm, after saving several cats from fires, they also sink them teefers right into your arm. I know it’s outta fear, but I do think it’s funny no one ever takes pictures those moments haha, but none the less good save to that guy!

Firefighters rescued my cat (also an orange tabby) when our apartment building caught on fire back in 2005. They busted down the door and, thankfully, were able to catch him when he bolted out. My husband (then boyfriend) and I were out, so our cat was placed in a paramedic vehicle which, ironically, got called on another run before we got there. Someone was taken to the ER in a paramedic vehicle that had my cat hidden under the seat. I remember anxiously going from firefighter to firefighter, asking if any had seen an orange tabby and just being so relieved when we got him back. He spent a night on oxygen, being monitored due to smoke inhalation (which was the most expensive thing I'd probably ever paid for at that point in my life) and then was A-OK.

That was 14 years ago. He's still afraid of fire alarms, but our Pancake is still alive and kicking, at almost 20 years old. I'm super grateful to firefighters, generally for all they do, and also when they are able to help out pets.

Edit to pay cat tax: https://imgur.com/a/edGB938 Sorry it was a late cat tax everyone!
