I remember thinking this waking into high school for the first time. The cops were actually very nice and we got to know them pretty well. Never shot at anyone and we only had one person / active shooter on campus and no one actually got shot. I don’t think the guy even shot the gun.
So, a win I suppose. Made it though school without getting killed. An real American achievement.
EDIT: this is here because I don’t think people understand that me saying “a win I suppose” about a guy on campus with a gun was satire.

I went to an American private school in The Netherlands when the coalition forces started pounding Iraq in 1991. Over night the school was fenced in and armed police was patrolling the school. It was surreal to a Scandinavian.

The guy who killed all those kids on that island in Norway was dressed as a police officer. Kids were running to him for help and he shot them dead.
