OTTAWA — The national statistics office says fewer children are living in poverty and it is connecting the drop to the Liberal government’s signature child benefit.

The Liberals introduced the income-tested Canada Child Benefit midway through 2016, replacing a previous system of tax credits and the Conservatives’ universal child care benefit.

The layoffs at Rooster Teeth, the sci-fi, gaming and fandom division of WarnerMedia’s Otter Media, were confirmed by the company Thursday.

The Rooster Teeth spokesperson declined to say whether senior-level execs were let go as part of the layoffs.

Olivia Jackson, who performed stunts for Milla Jovovich's character, Alice, says the September 2015 crash was the result of producers "elevating financial considerations over safety.".

She says producers had misled her into believing that their insurance would cover any injuries sustained during filming and resulting losses, but it only paid out $33,000.
