True story, I paid a composer friend of mine $1500 to score a 25 minute thesis film because that's what he bid and I thought it seemed fair. I later listened to his appearance on a composing podcast and they were shocked that he got paid, shocked. I just thought to myself... Really? Why wouldn't you pay an aspiring pro for their work? After all, he wasn't a student in my school so he wasn't receiving school credit like the rest of us.

This was before I knew of Choosing Beggars. How naive I was.
