When you're a young parent you are equal parts clueless-overwhelmed-exhausted. You really can't take a lot of time to reflect on parenthood and your kid's childhood until much later down the line.
A grandparent can do this from moment one which is why it's often so incredibly emotional. They know the journey ahead and they just hope for the best. Congrats to you all!
Awww... congratulations! My padre wanted me to get pregnant as soon as I got married, I waited 5 years and the last time I saw him I was 6 months pregnant and flew to TX to see my family. I remember he reached out to touch my belly and looked so happy. The morning I left back to AZ he said “ Bye pretty baby”. Two weeks later I got the call that he died of a heart attack. Never got to see him holding my son but I know he would have been just as joyful as your pops. Thank you for sharing this. Warm feelings exuding now. Enjoy every moment w your family.
