Don't feel too bad. Stephen King tells a story of when he was a kid and wiped his ass with the stuff. They had to tie him down in bed, IIRC.

Okay as someone who is allergic to poison ivy and basically gets it by staring at it—

1) Shower, pat yourself dry and put the towel in the wash.

2) Go to the store, get an oatmeal bath packet, and calamine lotion (you’ll find it in with all the poison ivy stuff), and a big thing of apple cider vinegar.

3) Take an oatmeal bath, when you get out pat yourself dry.

4) once dry, put the apple cider vinegar all over the infected area and let that dry.

5) once that’s dry put the calamine lotion on and veg out.

Do not scratch it for the love of god. The shower gets the oils off your skin, the oatmeal bath will help with the oils already in your skin. The vinegar helps dry out the infected area, which will help with itching and also help your body get rid of the rash. The calamine lotion also helps dry out your skin but also will help with the itchiness.

God speed.

EDIT: I’ve seen people include showering with cold water to try and avoid opening your pours.

I also wanted to add, once you know you’ve come in contact with any poison ivy, oak, sumac, wash your whole body, not just the infected area. Most importantly,

WASH YOUR PRIVATE AREAS. I cannot stress this enough, Poison ivy on your balls is not fun. (Peed in a bush while camping)

EDIT 2: Yeah, Incase you didn’t already assume, I am not a medical professional. Just giving you all what works for me without going to the doctor.

So while I appreciate the medical articles being sent to me, I’m not going to read them.

It would appear to me, that you got it all over your hands and then repeatedly wiped your head and face with poison covered hands. Probably to wipe away sweat. This information is not helpful to you at this point.
