Data was obtained from individual states Wikipedia page or Ballotpedia page and maps were created using mapchart.net. The one note I have is that Nebraska has a unicameral legislature so it is not split into House and Senate like the others. For the purposes of these maps I just included the results of Nebraska's legislature on both House and Senate maps.
Edit: Wow this is my first post to get over 1k upvotes. Thank you everyone :) Hopefully this will inspire people to get out and vote in local elections.
Edit 2: Holy crap over 10,000 upvotes and two reddit silver. Thank you everyone :)
Edit 3: Front page!! Thank you!! I'll stop with the edits now.
A suggestion? The highest gradient might be better set at 67% as many legislatures have 2/3d requirements for certain things. (Hawaii, btw, is 96% Dem in the State Senate and 90% in the State House -- it's like ultraviolet on this scale)

Damn, is Minnesota really the only split state?
